In 2008, Medicare pays for a maximum of 210 days of care for terminally ill patients in a Medicare approved hospice program, through two 90-day periods and one 30-day period. There are no deductibles or co-payments, except for covered prescription drugs and inpatient care. Individuals must CHOOSE hospice care.
