Humana Walmart Prescription Rx Plan – Part D

Humana Walmart Prescription Rx Plan – Part D

Humana and Walmart have teamed up to offer seniors a Humana Walmart-Preferred Rx Plan (PDP) with the lowest premium for a Medicare Part-D prescription drug card in the country.  The premium is only $18.50 a month.  Humana and Walmart can provide momentous savings on your prescription medicine costs.  This plan is available to most Medicare beneficiaries, including seniors and people with disabilities.  Humana is a stand-alone prescription drug plan with a Medicare contract. Other pharmacies are available in network.

“One of the primary goals of health care reform is to make health coverage more affordable – and that’s what we’re doing with the introduction of this low-cost Medicare Part D plan,” said William Fleming, PharmD, vice president of Humana Pharmacy Solutions. “People are more likely to take the medications prescribed for them when they can afford those medications. And adhering to prescription-drug regimens can enable people to be healthier and prevent future illness. At Humana, we believe that this prevention helps people live healthier lives and achieve lifelong well-being.”

This drug card makes a GREAT addition to an affordable Medicare Supplemental Insurance Policy.  Remember if you already have a Medicare Advantage plan, then it will probably already have your Part-D benefits included!

This drug plan covers more than 1500 generic drugs, it was designed with you -the senior in mind, to save you money. You will pay the lowest out-of-pocket when you fill your medications at a Walmart or Sam’s Club store.

There is a $320 Annual deductible for all drug tiers.

  • Tier 1 preferred generic medications are only one dollar co-pay for thirty-day supply at Walmart or Sam’s Club. Incredible as it may seem, if you use their preferred mail order provider “RightSourceRX”, your co-pay is “0″ for a 30 or 90 day order for Tier 1 & 2 generics.
  • Tier 2 is only $5 at the Preferred Retail Pharmacies, and $0 copay for mail order.
  • Tier 3 is 20% Coinsurance -Retail or Mail Order.
  • Tier 4 is 35% Coinsurance-Retail or Mail Order.

  1. I am confuse about deductibles. I take four drugs each day. All are generic tier 1 or tier 2. I usually order 90-day supply. According to the Humana-Walmart mail order site the monthly premium for 2017 will be $17, and the deductible is $400/year. However, If I look at the monthly costs on the Medicare.gov site, I do not see the effect of the deductible. What is that about?

  2. I received a letter from Humana regarding my new part D prescription drug plan. The letter suggested that I call 1-800 281-6918. I have now been waiting on hold for 3 hours and 20 minutes!!!!! I’ve hated to hang up for fear I’d loose my place in line. I’ve been listening to the same repeated message over and over, telling me that they’re sorry for the wait but to continue to hold!
How rude and inconsiderate can you get!!! Is this a reflection of what their service will be like in the future? Yes my time IS valuable to me and this is totally unacceptable!!

  4. I have not received my Humana Walmart Prescription coupon book. I have called Humana about 5 times now and they stated that they would order me another book 3 times this coupon book is being ordered. Have not received on coupon book yet. Humana stated that they are going to investigate why I have not received any books and will get back of me in 48 hours. This all started 1/13/2017 and I am still waiting for a response. I was told that previous customer service people I spoke with gave me wrong and misleading information. One customer service person told me to mail a check in without the coupon and gave me a address. I did do that and the customer service person I spoke with on 1/13/2016 said that my plan did not have a mail in check and the address I got to mail the check in he had no idea what that address was. He said for my own safety stop payment on that check which I did. Now I have not paid my premium for January and probably February also, because I have no coupon book. So what does a person do with no corporation from Humana.

  7. I have signed up for Humana Advantage instead of regular Medicare. Can I still get the Walmart plan as well? The Humana prices for my medications are outrageous. Goodrx is usually cheaper to use instead of my Humana. Even the price for generic drugs on Humana are outrageous.

  9. My psychiatrist ordered an Approval of Prescription
drug Coverage. I recv’d a letter approving Vraylar 1.5mg 30 da. This is a Tier5 Drug. I have spoken to 3 Reps in Benefits and 2 of the three agree. This is a drug for the rich & famous. However, it most likely will help me and my condition. The 3 rd Rep didn’t come anywhere near the other 2 in my monthly costs. @ are outrageous. Leading me into donut hole and catastrophic
ends. So in short does anybody know what they are talking about? my other drugs 2 are Tier 2 and 1 Tier 3. No problem. But the Vraylar- nobody is on the ball here for costs. Again 2 outrageous I can’t afford. And the 3rd ok.
Please get someone to contacted me that had the right amounts. This is serious. I should have changed last Dec. to another company but decided not.
This type of service is common with Humana.

  13. I have been with Humana Walmart prescription drug plan since 2015. Do you cover the Shingles shots (2 required shots) at this time? My doctor has said I need these shots! If so, is there a requirement on what pharmacy to go to? I went to a pharmacy that charged me $171.72 for the first shot and I am not pleased at this time with the cost as it is a preventative shot and I received a referral from my doctor.
